Sen. Hoeven Pushing For More CDL Drivers In North Dakota

(Washington, DC) — Senator John Hoeven is working to bring more CDL drivers to North Dakota. He says Derek Barrs of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is finishing an audit of North Dakota’s commercial driver’s license program. Once complete, it will provide a clearer pathway to train and hire more CDL operators, which are needed to move equipment used in farming and other major industries. Hoeven says it’s a particularly important job in a state that’s an AG powerhouse and an energy powerhouse. Once the audit is complete, the state will have the green light to issue non-domiciled CDLs again but applicants must show proper paperwork to obtain a license.
