(Pierre, SD) — A Pierre man on the state sex offender registry is facing new kidnapping charges. Maurice Robinson was taken into custody after family members were able to help police track his vehicle down in Tea. Police were alerted to an incident after a 15-year-old called 911 to say he had just escaped the vehicle Robinson was driving after he pointed a gun at the teenager. Robinson eventually dropped off the juvenile to use the bathroom and then drove off before being arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputies and Highway Patrol. The 66-year-old Robinson is on the South Dakota registry list for four sex crimes committed in California in the 70s.
