(Brookings, SD) — The Brookings School Board is approving the reduction of three positions in the district next year. The announcement was made during a meeting on Monday night, following a recommendation from Superintendent Summer Schultz. The three teachers were all notified by the board. Board President Deb DeBates tells Keloland the choice isn’t due to budget cuts but instead due to a decline in enrollment. She added that no program cuts were made as a result of the decision.
