(Mandan, ND) — A Mandan man charged with setting his father’s home on fire is pleading not guilty. Cory Conmy is facing charges of arson, endangering by fire or explosion and fleeing police. Authorities say he set his father’s home on fire while the 71-year-old was recovering from a medical procedure and was wheelchair-bound. When officers went to arrest Conmy, he fled in his vehicle and officers had to deploy spike strips to get it to stop. He was eventually detained after a 30-minute standoff when officers used a Taser to take him into custody.
