Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary Says Drought Is Killing Horses

(Black Hills, SD) — The Black Hills Wild Horse Sanctuary says they need donations to keep their horses thriving. The sanctuary owns thousands of acres in the Southern Black Hills for unwanted American Mustangs to roam and run free. Executive Director Susan Watt says when it gets dry, there is not always enough hay for the more than 500 horses to eat. The sanctuary is accepting cash donations and donations of hay to help support the herd. People can also pick a horse to sponsor on the sanctuary’s website.
