Man Pleads Guilty To Manslaughter In Plea Agreement

(Rapid City, SD) — A man is pleading guilty to manslaughter over a 2025 stabbing in Rapid City. Diontae Eagleman was scheduled to go on trial for first degree murder before admitting to stabbing Francis Tobacco in the chest on April 1st, 2025. It happened on the 400 block of Sixth Street near Main Street Square around 7:00 p.m. Tobacco was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead. Eagleman’s sentencing is scheduled for June 15th where prosecutors are expected to ask for a 40-year prison sentence.
