(Turtle Mountain Reservation, ND) — Fire officials say more than two-thousand acres are burned in the Turtle Mountain area. Dunseith Fire Chief Rick Gottbreht said the flames were about 50 percent contained as of 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. About 100 firefighters and a dozen departments throughout the region were sent to put out the blaze. For those willing and able to help, the Dunseith Emergency Response Center is accepting donations of food and water. There have been no injuries, evacuations or structure damages from the fires.
