(Fort Yates, ND) — Fort Yates will soon have its first-ever food bank that’s aimed at improving access to food for families. The Great Plains Food Bank is leading the initiative and will bring equipment and thousands of pounds of food to the region. The food bank will be located at the Fort Yates public school. The first batch of food arrives on November 20th, however, it won’t be open to the public until before Christmas. The school district says it will be open to everyone across North Dakota.
