(Bismarck, ND) — State Representative Nico Rios is not seeking reelection. The Republican lawmaker from Williston says he will not pursue his party’s endorsement and plans to focus on his career and personal life. Rios has faced repeated criticism after a 2023 drunken driving arrest and was later removed from a legislative committee. State and district Republican leaders also denounced antisemitic social media comments Rios made during the most recent legislative session. Rios’ term ends at the end of this year. Republican officials say several candidates are expected to seek District 23 endorsements.
