Woman Pleads Not Guilty To Stealing From Mother-In-Law

(McLean County, ND) — A woman pleaded not guilty to charges accusing her of stealing more than 250-thousand dollars. Shannon Olson is charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult, theft, forgery and unauthorized use of personal identifying information for allegedly taking advantage of her elderly mother-in-law. The 62-year-old Olson could face up to 20 years in prison. Olson began helping with her mother-in-law’s finances after the death of Lorna Olson’s husband in October, but she was never authorized as a signer on the accounts. Shannon Olson moved to Minnesota after her husband confronted her about charges found on his mother’s account for tattoos, clothes and alcohol. Her trial begins on April 23rd.
