(Bismarck, ND) — A task force is working to consolidate more than 170 state boards and commissions. The Boards and Commissions Task Force was formed during the 2025 legislative session to find ways to merge or outright eliminate some of the 170 organizations overseen by the Governor’s office. Governor Armstrong says all the boards come with a price tag. The task force has met with 130 different boards and commissions so far and is set to meet with more through May. They are expecting to provide a recommendation to dissolve about two-dozen organizations and merge another two-dozen into existing agencies.
