Dickinson School District To Recover $5M Lost In Scam

(Dickinson, ND) — The Dickinson School District is getting about five-million dollars back they lost in an email scam. The money was recovered by the North Dakota U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI. The school district says the criminals tricked officials by impersonating a vendor that was known to buyers. The attorney’s office traced the money back to a Citibank account and obtained a warrant to get it back. A check was sent to the U.S. Marshals Service and will be delivered to the school district once final court proceedings are complete.
