(Undated) — Rural North Dakota fire departments are eligible for grants. North Dakota and the USDA Forest Service will help departments purchase new equipment. Fire departments must be serving an area with ten-thousand people or less to be eligible and need to match at least 50-percent of the cost. The grants can be used for personal protective equipment, radios and vehicles. North Dakota Fire Service says they have around 365-thousand dollars to help fire departments.
