(Bismarck, ND) — The Public Service Commission is approving a permit for a battery storage facility in Burke County. Northern Divide Energy Storage is now approved to build a 20-acre facility about ten miles south of Columbus. It will be capable of storing up to 100 megawatts of power from a nearby wind farm. The company says it will cost about 130-million dollars. It’s the second battery storage site to be approved in the state this year with another set to be built northeast of Linton.
