North Dakota Organizations Send Aid To Great Plains Wildfires

(Bismarck, ND) — Organizations from North Dakota are sending aid to battle wildfires in the Great Plains. The state is sending two 600-gallon “Bambi Buckets” to provide aerial firefighting support in Nebraska and South Dakota. The state Forest Service is also sending an engine and three firefighters to battle the Qury Fire in South Dakota’s Black Hills. Two fires in Nebraska have burned a combined 771-thousand acres and are currently 67 and 78 percent contained. The Qury Fire in South Dakota has burned just shy of ten-thousand acres and is 44 percent contained.
