Sheriff’s Deputy Shot In Hand In Kulm

(Kulm, ND) — A sheriff’s deputy is recovering after being shot in the hand in Kulm. The whole town was placed under a shelter-in-place as authorities searched for the armed suspect. The incident started in McIntosh County when a member of the sheriff’s department went to check on a driver on Highway 13. When the suspect was finally stopped in LaMoure County, a roadside fight broke out between the driver and the deputy, causing a gunfight when the suspect took the deputy’s gun. The suspect escaped after the fight but was found and taken into custody 45 minutes later.
