Summit Carbon Pipeline Relocated To Wyoming

(Bismarck, ND) — Summit Carbon Solutions is rerouting its proposed carbon dioxide pipeline project to Wyoming instead of North Dakota. The company says the revised route will travel through Iowa and Nebraska and connect 27 ethanol plants. Summit previously planned to send carbon dioxide to underground storage northwest of Bismarck, though the permits face legal challenges. Two North Dakota judges have ruled the underground storage permits and the laws authorizing them unconstitutional, with appeals expected before the state Supreme Court. Summit says it still views North Dakota as an option for future phases of the project.
