(Bismarck, ND) — Two new programs to help prevent criminals from reoffending are being starting to take shape. Both programs were passed by the 2025 state legislature. One provides one-million dollars to state’s attorney’s offices that operate diversion programs in Cass, Grand Forks and Stark Counties. It provides treatment to offenders as an alternative to jail either before or after criminals are arrested. The second offers grants to nine different counties to help rehabilitate offenders and prepare them for life after incarceration.
