(Sioux Falls,SD) — The oldest cemetery in Sioux Falls is starting to make more proactive changes. Mount Pleasant Cemetery lost its non-profit status last year, but the new board elected in October says they have made necessary repairs and started to make a dent in a poor financial situation. Now, they want to regain non-profit status and continue with some non-essential repairs. The board held a meeting at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Saturday where they discussed what was being done and answered questions about future plans. One man who has multiple family members buried at the cemetery says he was pleased with what he heard and the changes are making the cemetery better.
