(Sioux Falls, SD) — Groundbreaking for a new men’s prison in Sioux Falls will take place on Wednesday. The penitentiary is being built on 148 acres in the north east part of the city along Benson Road. The land was bought for 12-point-five million dollars and the price for building the facility is being capped at 650-million. Plans for the prison were finalized over lengthy debates in the legislature and multiple task forces that provided recommendations. A ceremony is set to begin at 9:00 a.m.
