(Minot, ND) – The Minot school bus driver accused of transporting children while intoxicated is asking to change his plea. Police arrested 66-year-old Tomas Podolski on August 20 on Minot Air Force Base after being stopped by base law enforcement. Prosecutors say a deputy found what appeared to be vodka in a water bottle on the bus, and Podolski’s blood alcohol content was .214 when tested at the jail an hour later. Podolski has now agreed to plead guilty to a misdemeanor charge of DUI with a minor. As part of the deal, he would serve ten days in jail, serve 50 hours of community service, and pay about $1,000 in fines and fees.
