Space Force Plans Grand Forks Operations Center

Grand Forks, ND) — The U.S. Space Force wants to build a 250-million-dollar space operations center at Grand Forks Air Force Base. The project is part of President Trump’s 2027 defense budget request and would support classified missile-warning, missile-tracking, and space data operations. North Dakota senators say the facility would bring more than 100 Space Force and National Reconnaissance Office personnel to the base. Design work could begin later this year if Congress approves the funding.
