Three Weapons Sentences Handed Down In Rapid City

(Rapid City, SD) — Three people facing federal weapons charges related to separate Rapid City incidents know their fate after sentencing yesterday. Twenty-three-year-old Avalon Gayton, of Rapid City, was sentenced to four years in prison after being caught with a gun during a traffic stop last year. Twenty-year-old Ashton Shaw, also from Rapid City, was sentenced to five years for receiving a gun while under indictment. And 34-year-old Mexican national, Oscar Ortiz-Romero, was sentenced to time served for being a convicted felon in possession of a gun.
