End Of Minot Recycling Mandate Causes Hundreds Of Opt Outs

(Minot, ND) — Hundreds of homes are opting out of the Minot City Council recycling program. The city council voted to end a recycling mandate in the fall and those changes are starting to be implemented. When the council approved opt outs, Public Works told KFYR that nearly 300 homes opted out of the program. The city says that total number is now closer to 400. Public Works says recycling rates are staying the same for now but they could change as the result of ongoing budget discussions.
