Sen. Cramer Endorses Resolution To Make April Second Chance Month

(Bismarck, ND) — Sen. Kevin Cramer is supporting a resolution to declare April as Second Chance Month. Cramer’s office issued a statement saying that nearly 80 million Americans have a criminal record, creating barriers that makes life outside of prison more difficult to rebuild their lives. He says dwelling on incarceration takes away focus from what comes next once prisoners are released. He recently visited the North Dakota State Penitentiary where he met with the Prison Fellowship Academy, which helps prepare people for life outside of prison. Second Chance Month gives more organizations like the academy a chance to thrive.
