(Devils Lake, ND) — Camp Grafton is set to become a training site for tribal law enforcement recruits. The National Guard base near Devils Lake is currently the site of an advanced law enforcement training program for officers with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Now, it will expand to provide basic training as well. The announcement was made in an executive order from U.S. Interior Secretary and former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum as part of the creation of an Indian Country Violent Crime Task Force. BIA recruits in the past attended basic training in Artesia, New Mexico.
