North Dakota Reaches Settlement Over Dakota Access Pipeline Protests

(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota is receiving a settlement tied to the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. Attorney General Drew Wrigley says the deal settles a seven-year-old lawsuit and he describes the payment the state will receive as, “satisfactory.” Attorneys have not disclosed how much the payment will be. As part of the deal, the Justice Department has asked that previous rulings and orders be vacated to prevent possible future cases. Wrigley says the settlement will be made public once the deal is finalized.
