Bismarck Commissioners Approve Nearly $100M Budget For New Police HQ

(Bismarck, ND) — The Bismarck City Commission is approving nearly 100-million-dollars for a new police headquarters. Bismarck Police Chief Jason Stugelmeyer says the current police department was built in 1979. The preliminary budget that was approved by city commissioners includes financing for construction, contingencies, furniture, equipment, fees and site surveys. Work on designs are expected to begin next month with bidding expected to start early next year. Construction is scheduled to begin next spring.
