(Mandan, ND) — A former elementary school in Mandan will soon be transformed into a senior center for Morton and Oliver counties. The Morton County Council on Aging is buying the old Custer Elementary school on 8th Avenue. The council serves more than 76-thousand meals each year, and its current kitchen cannot meet the counties’ growing senior population. The modernized facility in central Mandan will allow the council to expand its senior fitness program and parking lot.
