(Mandan, ND) — A former assistant fire chief charged with possessing child sexual assault materials has bonded out of jail. Robert Knuth posted a 100-thousand-dollar cash bond after being arrested last month. Investigators say they discovered the child sex abuse materials on a work phone Knuth used while serving as a trainer for the state firefighters’ association. Knuth also served as assistant chief for the Minot Rural Fire Department. The chief announced Knuth was no longer with the department shortly after his arrest.
