(Devils Lake, ND) — A Bureau of Indian Affairs basic law enforcement academy is planned for Camp Grafton near Devils Lake. The North Dakota National Guard facility will train tribal police, corrections, and communications recruits. The base already hosts advanced BIA training. The announcement came in an executive order from Interior Secretary Doug Burgum creating an Indian Country Violent Crime Task Force. Officials have not announced when the training program will begin.
