(Sioux Falls, SD) — Construction crews have broken ground on Fire Station 13 in Sioux Falls. The site sits just south of Foundation Park and is adjacent to the site of the new Smithfield plant. Sioux Falls City Council member Jennifer Sigette says its a sign that the city continues to experience growth. The strategic location of the fire station will allow quicker service to industrial locations in the Foundation Park area and Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Chief Matt McAreavey says personnel training for people stationed there will focus on industrial buildings. The station will also serve residential buildings in the area as well.
