(Pierre, SD) — A Pierre man is facing an eleven count indictment, including five charges of rape. Prosecutors are accusing Jarret High Bear of sexual assault of two people under the age of 13. The five rape charges carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison and maximum of life in prison. The alleged crimes took place between January 2018 and March of 2026. The case was investigated by the Pierre Police Department and will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office and the Hughes County State’s Attorney’s Office.
