State Tax Commission Announces Primary Residence Credit Requests

(Bismarck, ND) — State Tax Commissioner Brian Kroshus says there were more than 164-thousand Primary Residence Credit requests in 2025. Kroshus says the amount of applicants was on the higher end of state estimates, but not a surprise. He says its a good thing that so many North Dakota taxpayers are using the program. The approved homeowners will receive a tax credit between five-hundred and 16-hundred dollars. The program saw a 13-percent jump in applicants from 2024 and a 22-percent jump from 2023.
