(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota Board of Regents is announcing five core components to improve learning in the state. The organization’s five objectives are governance and infrastructure needs, curricular and programmatic impacts, optimization and utilization of agentic AI, research, and development of AI literacy among students, faculty and staff. President Jeff Partirdge says AI is, “transforming every sector of our economy, and higher education must evolve just as rapidly. He adds that all of the state’s public universities need to be AI ready. The board is calling the five core components an investment in the long-term success of the state and its students.
