(Bismarck, ND) — An arson suspect is in custody following a weekend standoff with police outside Sanford Hospital in Bismarck. Authorities report the man surrendered after about 30 minutes of sitting in his car near the emergency entrance on Saturday evening. Mandan police say an officer spotted the suspect in their community and tried to stop him, but he refused, driving into Bismarck at normal speeds. Investigators believe the man set fire to a mobile home on Withers Drive in Mandan earlier in the day on Saturday. His identity has not yet been released.
