(Williston, ND) — Residents living near Lake Sakakawea say a bridge over the lake would be an economic asset. Continental Resources Founder Harold Hamm added that a bridge over the lake, “makes a great deal of sense.” Local business owners say water levels are as low as people can remember and building the bridge now could be easier than ever before. Locals identified an area to build the bridge along the same route as a ferry that used to operate on the lake years ago. The proposed bridge could cut travel times between Williston, Watford City and New Town by significant margins.
