Gov. Rhoden Signs State Capitol Restoration Bill

(Pierre, SD) — Governor Larry Rhoden is signing a bill to fund renovations at the state Capitol building. The bill was pushed through the state Congress after a sewer line leak delayed a legislative session on March 10th. A contingent of plumbers and custodial staff were sent to clean up what lawmakers called, “a pretty nasty mess.” The bill approves one-point-one million dollars worth of upgrades to the 116-year-old building, which was last restored during the 1989 state centennial. It was one of several bills signed into law by Rhoden on Thursday.
