(Sioux Falls, SD) — Volunteer fire departments are on edge waiting for the next grass fire. Strong winds in the forecast, along with dry conditions have created hazardous environments throughout the state for another big brushfire. Minnehaha County says most of the firefighters at the volunteer fire departments have other full-time jobs. Officials say they typically start to determine if there is going to be a Red Flag warning three days in advance. They also say a number of farmers have discs hooked up to help firefighters develop containment lines.
