Public Service Commission Approves Power Project For Data Center

(Harwood, ND) — The North Dakota Public Service Commission is approving a power project for a data center. The 110-million-dollar project for a substation will help supply power to the Applied Digital data center site off Interstate 29 between Harwood and Fargo. On Wednesday, the three-person commission unanimously approved the project proposed by the Minnkota Power Cooperative. Minnkota was previously granted a waiver to start construction on the project and the company hopes to have a line operating from the substation by September. Minnkota told the commission that Applied Digital will pay for the project.
