North Dakota District Judge Todd Cresap Announces Retirement

(Minot, ND) — North Dakota District Judge Todd Cresap is retiring in July. Cresap submitted his decision in a letter to Gov. Kelly Armstrong that the retirement would take effect on July 17th. He said in the letter that he had mixed emotions about the decision calling it an honor to serve, but noting it was time for people with new perspectives to serve. Cresap was appointed to a judgeship by then-Gov. John Hoeven in 2009 and was elected by voters in 2012, 2016 and 2022. Gov. Armstrong will have the choice to appoint a replacement from a nominating committee or call for a special election to find a replacement.
