MINOT — A 74-year-old Minot woman is dead following a two-vehicle crash Sunday evening at the intersection of Highway 2 and 13th Street SE, the North Dakota State Patrol reports.
The crash happened at approximately 5:32 p.m. on Sunday, May 17, during light rain and on wet pavement.
According to investigators, a 2022 Mini Cooper Countryman was traveling westbound on Highway 2 when it collided with a 2012 Ford Fusion heading northbound on 13th Street SE. The Mini Cooper T-boned the Fusion inside the intersection, and both vehicles came to rest in the northwest portion of the intersection.
The driver of the Mini Cooper, a 74-year-old Minot man, and his passenger, a 74-year-old Minot woman, were both wearing seatbelts and were transported to Trinity Hospital with serious injuries. The woman later died from her injuries.
The Ford Fusion was occupied by three juveniles. The driver, from Glasgow, Montana, suffered minor injuries, and a juvenile passenger, also from Glasgow, sustained serious injuries. Both were taken to Trinity Hospital. Neither was wearing a seatbelt. A third juvenile passenger from Minot, who was wearing a seatbelt, was not injured.
The names of the juveniles will not be released. The North Dakota State Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Minot Police Department, Minot Fire Department, and Trinity First Response. The crash remains under investigation.
