(Aberdeen, SD) — A standoff took place in Aberdeen early Tuesday morning after a gun discharged. According to the Aberdeen Police Department, officers responded to a report of a gunshot reportedly from the backyard of a residence on the 17-hundred block of 9th Avenue SW. Officers were able to contain the area and communicate with the subject. The standoff ended peacefully and police say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
