(Mandan, ND) — New charges have been filed against former Game and Fish Director Terry Steinwand. Steinwand had charges of gross sexual imposition against him dropped earlier this month after a judge rejected two separate plea agreements. He was originally accused of inappropriately touching a child and the judge said Steinwand would not have received enough sex offender treatment under the two proposed agreements. The original crime he was charged with carried the possibility of life in prison, if he was convicted. Now, Steinwand is facing misdemeanor assault charges.
