(Brookings, SD) — A 26-year-old is facing charges for making a false report of a shooting. Police say Elijah Arias fabricated a report that he had been fired at while driving between Brookings and White. An investigation determined that Arias was driving his roommate’s vehicle and discharged a revolver out of the window into a ditch. One of the rounds hit the car he was driving, prompting Arias to fabricate the story. He was charged with a misdemeanor and later released on bond.
