(Sioux Falls, SD) — A man charged with murder in two Missing, Murdered Indigenous People cases is admitting to the killings. According to court documents, Jonathan Eagle Elk says he beat two homeless people to death in Pine Ridge. Eagle Elk admits to killing Louis Swift Bird in June of 2022 and Maria Makes Him First a month later. Eagle Elk had originally pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges in both killings.
