(Sioux Falls, SD) — Game, Fish and Parks says the mountain lion spotted in Sioux Falls has been euthanized. Home security cameras spotted the large cat just outside a doorstep on 14th Street around 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday and another camera spotted it on a bridge just north of 14th Street three hours later. GFP staff monitored the lion and euthanized it, per protocol. An inspection of the corpse determined the lion had a pre-existing injury to its abdomen and was abnormally thin. It was the first mountain lion sighting in the area since 2023.
