(Pierre, SD) — A smoke shop owner in Pierre is facing probation for possession of a controlled substance. Bristol Nielsen was sentenced Tuesday to five years in prison, but it was suspended upon completion of three years probation. Attorney General Marty Jackley says the state plans to prosecute anyone who sells illegal drugs as part of a legitimate business. Nielsen was the owner of Masterpiece Smoke Shop in Pierre and arrested in 2025. It was part of a state-wide sting on illegal products being sold in businesses.
