(Mitchell, SD) — The Mitchell Ice Arena is receiving one-point-seven-million dollars worth of upgrades. Construction to repair the facility’s roof is expected to be completed by the end of September. The project will also add better drainage and more parking spaces. The main repairs are designed to fix the wall and roof that connect the ice arena to the Mitchell Activities Center. Other attempts to repair that part of the building have been made since the ice arena was built in 2013 but leaks have reappeared each time.
