(Yankton, SD) — The Boys and Girls Club of Yankton says 200-thousand dollars were stolen in a cyberattack. The organization says they were hacked by an unidentified group or person who used a deepfake program to acquire login credentials. The club says they are “heartbroken” they lost the funds but thankful to have the flexibility to manage the loss. The club became aware of the theft on May 1st when the attackers made a second attempt to withdraw money. They say no data or client information was compromised.
